Florence

The capital city of the Tuscan region in Italy, Florence is a joyous city to visit and explore.
Its warm temperate climates welcome walks along the historic town’s streets, as well as visits in and among the many museums and art galleries of the city.

As the epicenter of the Italian Rennaisance movement, art lovers will find famous artists in their hometown such Leonardo, Dante, Machiavelli and Michelangelo, as well as more ancient arts from the Roman histories everywhere that served as their inspiration during the cultural rebirth of the 16th Century.

Architecture is one clear expression of the artistry of the ancient Florentine. The world-famous Duomo with the Brunelleschi cupola and the marble clad baptistry are breathtaking examples. Climbing the “Cupolone” of the Duomo will give visitors the opportunity to see the great panoramic vistas overlooking the city.

The Santo Spirito Church and the Uffizi Galleries, one of the best art museums in the world also merit visits to bask in the architecture and artifacts of era gone by.
The carefree piazzas of Florence invite guests to sit and linger in streetside cafes, watching the pigeons and people going by.

Usually washed down with famed Tuscan wine, rustic Florentine food has its roots in homestyle cuisine where a typical meal would begin with antipasti like crostini toscani, sliced bread rounds topped with a chicken liver-based pâté, and sliced meats (mainly prosciutto and salami, often served with melon when in season), soups like ribollita and pappa al pomodoro to cap off a famous main course, the bistecca alla fiorentina (steak of Chianina beef cooked over hot charcoal and served very rare).
